The Mind Show

The standard procedure for waking up is to move from output to input, from TAG (”The Anti-Truth Game) which features the dreamers in the dream creating duality in defense of the lie the dreamers in the dream are people. Duality starts with the fiction defection from mind is possible, which manifests as “The Main Event” in this dream, and locks into place when mind features the dreamers accessing “The Standard Personhood Kit” to do personhood convincingly in the dream.

This is what makes the dreamers in this dream transparent: they are dreamers in “The Mind Show,” creating duality with “The Standard Personhood Kit (TSPK) filling time pretending it’s possible to prove the dreamers are ‘real people’ outside the dream mind is dreaming, having ‘real lives’ in a ‘real reality.’ All of this takes place in “The Mind Show” and that is always exactly what ‘right now’ is. This is what comes into focus when a dreamer in the dream wakes up: it shifts from the fiction right now is real to the truth ‘right now’ is the dream mind is dreaming, which, when viewed accurately, is “The Mind Show.” All the dreamers in “The Mind Show” display exactly where they are with the fact truth is absolute: mind is dreaming every aspect of ‘right now’ as content in “The Grand Parody.” This is a parody because none of it has any more reality than content in “The Mind Show” mind is dreaming.

Dreamers in “The Mind Show,” stuck in the fiction right now is real, try to walk home to the truth from output to input, running into a wall of amnesia, trance, and ‘resistance.’ The reason for this is obvious: no one exists to ‘wake up’ if ‘right now’ is only a mind generated dream. Only the dreamers in the dream, featured creating duality to defend the fiction they are ‘real people,’ could possibly wake up, and TAG features the sum of what the dreamers do in the dream to defend “The Master Lie,” that ‘this,’ right now, is ‘real,’ and that all the dreamers creating duality to do ‘existing believably’ are featured ‘defending the lie they are people,’ as if someone’s life is at stake. What’s always at stake is the lie the dreamers are ‘the real people’ mind features them impersonating in this dream. TAG includes the ferocity dreamers display in the dream to prove truth is false; that mind has absolutely nothing to do with “reality,” and “The Mind Show” in progress as ‘right now.’

Since waking up isn’t something people do, the most productive approach is to start with the truth, mind is the source of ‘everything,’ including “The Mind Show” in progress, and assist the dreamer to identify how it creates duality in the dream to defend the fiction It isn’t content in the dream mind is dreaming. Duality is required if the dreamer in the dreaming is going to fill time playing TAG; in fact, TAG minus duality spells the end of the game for the dreamer. What good is duality if it can’t prove the dreamer is a ‘real person,’ having a ‘real life,’ in a ‘real reality’ outside the dream mind is dreaming? The dreamer who wakes up abandons duality because it is clear mind is dreaming “The Whole Show,” including how the dreamers in the dream it is dreaming create duality to feign defection from mind to defend the fiction they are not content in the dream, like everything else.

Truth, as Wei Wu Wei points out, is an all or nothing proposition: either ‘everything’ is content in “The Mind Show,” or none of it is. A dreamer wakes up in the dream when it is clear nothing the dreamer does in the dream has any chance to revoke the fact it can only be what it is; a dreamer in the dream mind is dreaming. What comes to an abrupt end is the lie the dreamer is, or can prove it is, a person while in the dream mind is dreaming. In this light, duality is viewed as the primary prop dreamers rely on in the dream to defend the fiction they exist as ‘real people’ outside the dream, as if that’s possible.

Since mind alone exists to dream “The Mind Show” in its entirety, it includes, as content in the dream, the moment mind features a dreamer dismissing the fact it can only be a dreamer in the dream mind is dreaming, by pulling away from the fact truth is absolute. The shift from the absolute to the relative, that the dreamer is a ‘real person’ and not content in the dream mind is dreaming, can occur abruptly in response to ‘traumatic events’ in the dream. The shift from the truth to the lie usually takes place over time, but the dream includes ‘trauma’ which most dreamers in the dream will treat as real events, and not more content in the dream. The point is, the dream is always what ‘right now’ is, and it will include ‘traumatic events’ as content in the dream, as well as a long flow of events that are ‘trauma free.’ No matter what shows up, it can only be more of the dream mind is dreaming, including ‘traumatic’ and non traumatic events. There are no events that exist outside the dream, which means, as content in the dream, they are all equal as mind stuff.

The flood that ‘destroys your house’ in the dream, is the same thing as ‘falling in love’ while attending a concert. The non dual is non dual because ‘everything’ is content in the dream mind is dreaming, and none of it involves people, only dreamers featured in the dream selectively treating events in the dream as significant or not significant for them in the dream. What one dreamer treats as very real, another dreamer barely notices. The dream displays the flow of events, including what events the dreamers will make the centerpiece for the story they use in the dream to do personhood believably. The dream includes, as content, what events dreamers will single out to assemble the part they are going to play in the dream, perhaps for the duration of their appearance in the dream.

The dream includes “The Standard Personhood Kit” each dreamer gets to rely on in the dream to fill time playing the part of some kind of a person in the dream. Ten dreamers all draw from the same kit, but this manifests as a theme and variations. The kit includes everything the dreamer requires to defend the fiction duality, or separation from mind, is possible. Mind dreams TAG, or the sum of all the ways the dreamers draw from the same kit to do personhood believably in the dream. The kit services the lie duality is real because without this lie no dreamer can drag out the fiction it is a ‘real person’ having a ‘real life’ in a ‘real reality’ outside the dream mind is dreaming. Time displays the degree to which the dreamers in the dream defend the lie duality is real to defend the lie they are ‘the real people’ mind features them portraying in “The Mind Show.”

The kit includes,’the story’ the dreamer assembles in the dream to play the part of some kind of a person; ‘a self’ that goes with the story the dreamer relies on to do personhood convincingly in the dream; ‘the skit’ the dreamer occupies in the dream which provides the self the arena to defend “The Master lie,” that everything is real, and nothing is content in “The Grand Parody” mind is dreaming; and finally, ‘the feelings’ the dreamer reiterates to defend the fiction a ‘real person’ is having a ‘real life,’ and feelings serve as proof for this fiction in the dream. There are no people in a dream to have any feelings. All the dreamers in the dream rely on ‘feelings’ to defend the fiction feelings are proof the dreamer is a person.

If fear anchors the lie a real someone exits to have a self, the dreamer in the dream will play the part of a ‘fearful person’ in the dream. Nothing works better in the dream to sustain the fiction truth is false than fear. Dreamers, posing as people, work as a team to defend the fiction fear is proof right now is really real, and not more of the same dream. The last thing dreamers retrieve is that if ‘everything’ can only be content in “The Mind Show,” then that must include fear, too.

The lie a dreamer is a ‘real person’ depends on the fiction fear isn’t content in the dream. It feels so awful it can’t be content in the dream, but it is if the non dual is non dual. Dreamers who defend the fiction fear is proof the dreamers are real ‘frightened people,’ view the truth about fear with understandable alarm. Can a dreamer defend the fiction it is a ‘real person’ without reiterated fear? When a dreamer wakes up in the dream, it correctly identifies how much the lie — it is a ‘real person’ in this dream — hinges on the fiction fear can be counted on as the ultimate defense for “The Master lie,” that right now is real and not the dream mind is dreaming. Feeling awful works to defend “The master Lie,” as if it is the last word in truth.

In the next installment, I will look at some of the popular stories dreamers assemble in the dream in order to do personhood convincingly in the dream. No dreamer can play the part of a ‘real person’ in this dream without the endless reiteration of the story it assigns to time. The dreamer’s story is what it relies on to defend the fiction a real someone had a past. If there are no people, this being the dream mind is dreaming, the dreamer uses events in the dream to ‘have a past.’ Story keeps the past ‘real’ by reliving it day in and day out in the dream. The dream features TAG, or the sum of what the dreamers reiterate in the dream to defend the fiction ‘right now is real,’ and not the dream mind is dreaming. It’s all content in “The Mind Show,” and ‘right now provides indirect proof that mind is the doer of all of it, with no exceptions.

  1. As perceptive as ever!
However, I am not happy about your use of the word ‘duality’. To me, duality is the necessary and inevitable outcome of manifestation of what we are as what we appear to be as phenomena or dream creatures. Duality is the splitting of the whole to create the seer and the seen. What we ignorant humans manage to do is then identify with the seer part of the duality to create ‘dualism’. I don’t think this is a term that Wei Wu Wei uses but I have seen it somewhere or other and I find usefully distinguishes between the two processes.

If mind is the only doer there is, then mind can’t dream this parody unless it dreams the dreamers in the dream 1) feigning defection from mind, in order to fill time defending the fiction they are real people outside the dream mind is dreaming, and 2) the defense of the lie dreamers exist outside the dream mind is dreaming requires 2) the creation of the invented self which the dreamer in the dream relies on to maintain the fiction it is a ‘real person’ in the dream. Without the creation of duality, there is no drama in the dream. Duality doesn’t exist if it is the prop mind relies on to make nothing, a dream, appear to be a real something, like a ‘real reality.” Duality is what suffering is in this dream because there is no such thing if mind is all there is, and the defense on the dreamer’s part in the dream is indefensible. Suffering is defending the indefensible as if it is defensible. In what way does your life in the dream include suffering in defense of the lie duality is real? If the dream didn’t include the fiction duality is real, how could a dreamer insist it has a self? Mind dreams the dreamers creating duality in the dream to create the lie the invented self will work to prove the dreamers are ‘real people.’ Dreamers are endlessly ‘defensive’ because they fill time defending the lie the self they invented can service the lie the dreamer is a ‘real person.’ If right now is only content in “The Mind Show,” then it features ‘the dreamers relying on the invented self to sustain “The Master Lie,” that right now is real and not content in “The Grand Parody” mind is dreaming. Right now displays the sum of all the ways the dreamers in this dream rely on the invented self to defend the fiction the dreamers in the dream are ‘real people.’ Dreamers suffer from defending the lie duality wlll work to prove they are ‘real people,’ when, in the context of the dream, that’s not possible.
